MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) ko develop karne ke liye istemaal hone wali technology FDDI (Fiber Distribution Data Interface), ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) aur MDS (Switched Multi Megabit Data Service) hai.

ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ka sabse zyada istemal kiya jaata hai. ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ek digital data transfer technique hai. Isse 1980 me ek network par real time transport me improvement ke liye develope kiya gaya tha.

ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) Sale Relay System ki tarah kaam karta hai, jaha data ko fixed ek hi size ke packets me divide kar diya jaata hai aur Overtime Transfer kiya jaata hai. 

ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ka purpose ek video conferencing ke time clear audio aur video quality results ko achieve karna hai. ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) ke advantages ne bade area ke Data Networking ka base banaya hai.

ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) Service Switching aur Packet Switching ki qualities ko connect karta hai, jo Real-time data Transfer ki permission deta hai. 

FDDI (Fiber Distribution Data Interface) LAN (Local Area Network) par data transfer karne ke liye ek standard hai, jisse lagbhag 200 kilometers tak badaya jaa sakta hai. FDDI (Fiber Distribution Data Interface) kai hazar users ke data transmission ko support karne me help karta hai. Issi liye isse MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) technology ki tarah use kiya jaane laga hai. 

FDDI (Fiber Distribution Data Interface) apne basic structure ke liye Optical Fiber ka istemal karta hai. Isi liye isse Fiber Distribution Data Interface ke naam se jana jaata hai.

Jab ek connection ke bina kisi data ko transfer kiya jata hai to hum SMDS technology ka istemal karte hai. Connection ke bina transfer ka matlab hai ki data ke header me information store karke transfer kiya jaata hai aur kisi bhi network se independently apne destination tak pahuchaya jata hai. 

Jab data SMDS ki technology ka istemal karke transfer kiya jaata hai, to ye ATM ki tarah chote data packet bhi banta hai. Par SMDS datagram ki tarah bade geographical area me data ke transmission ki permission deta hai.
